The 1Malaysia COBRA Youth Rugby Programme was launched at COBRA Rugby Club in 2014.
The primary objective of the 1Malaysia COBRA Youth Rugby Programme is to use rugby to promote national integration by encouraging positive values, improving self-esteem, and improving employability.
The programme was launched in September 2014 where team of coaches managed by COBRA completed the selection process in Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak as well as in Peninsular Malaysia on a yearly basis. The aim is to contribute towards the building up of a credible national team at the Asian Under 19 level.
Other activities lined up under this programme will focus on introduction of rugby to youth throughout the country. Among the values we hope to instill are; discipline, respect for team mates, team work to strive for a common goal, integrity to ensure we play by the rules and courage to push ahead to achieve our dreams.
